The Bois littoral was originally a wild wood, then a hunting ground in the Middle Ages. At the end of the 19th century, on the initiative of a property developer, Bois de Cise was sold in lots and became a well-known seaside resort during the Belle Epoque.
Today, it's an enchanting place to relax and stroll, best explored on foot along the narrow paths and wooden staircases that criss-cross the site. Some very pretty villas bear witness to the prosperous years before the First World War.

Like Victor Hugo in his day, don't forget to visit the panorama, a fantastic viewpoint overlooking the Baie de Somme estuary.

Self-guided and guided tours on request.
